I am currently a PhD student in theology at Fuller Seminary. However, I was majored in secondary math education in my undergraduate, but I did not complete my credential. because I switched my major, so I do not have my BA in math education. However, I completed my coursework for the degree, studying both math and education.
Experience
I have tutored and taught high school math for over 10 years. After my BA, I spent four years teaching math in a high school classroom before I went back to graduate school. I continued tutoring because I enjoy being part of the learning process. A good portion of my experience has been working with girls who have some level of math anxiety. I enjoy the process of taking them from a place where they fear of math to where they excel in a math classroom. I think it is important to have more women involved in math and science, and helping these girls unlock their potential to participate in these fields and watching their self-confidence grow is rewarding and exciting work. Hobbies
I enjoy a great deal of outdoor activities, such as tennis, camping, gardening, and generally being out in nature. My husband is an artist, so we enjoy visiting art museums and galleries.
